SAFETY PROGRAM
Preferred Personnel places a high
emphasis on employee safety. We actively enforce our safety program and
it is the most extensive in our industry to safeguard our employees and to
ensure our competitiveness.
Our clients have access to our
safety video library and safety training materials in English and
Spanish. We supplement our staff with external loss control specialists
such as Steve Damewood of Damewood Consulting Group. We have on staff
several certified safety specialists to assist our clients with the
implementation of their safety programs.
Preferred Personnel sends our
safety personnel and management to attend safety training courses provided
through the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Safety Council. They
receive completion certificates for forklift certification, Machine Guarding,
Advanced Industrial Safety, Lockout /Tag out, Haz-Mat and other areas of
safety. Upon completion of these courses, our personnel are Registered
Safety Administrators with the skills necessary to assist our clients in OSHA
compliance and safety.
Our goal is to make sure every
employee has a safe place to work. Following is a Mission Statement as
quoted by Joann Idleman, President of Preferred Personnel.
“Safety and Health in our company
must be part of every operation. Without question, it is every employee’s
responsibility at all levels.
We will maintain a safety and
health program conforming to the best practices in our industry. To be
successful, such a program must embody the proper attitudes toward injury and
illness prevention on the part of supervisors and employees. It also
requires cooperation in all safety and health matters, not only between
supervisors and employees, but also between employees and their
co-workers. Only through such cooperative effort can an effective safety
and health program be established and preserved.
The safety and health of every
employee is a high priority. Management accepts responsibility for
providing a safe work environment and employees are expected to take
responsibility for performing work in accordance with safe standards and
practices.
Safety and health will only be
achieved through teamwork. Everyone must join together in promoting
safety and health and taking every reasonable measure to assure safe working
conditions in the company.
